Oceanides Eyewear was founded in 2018 in a small village on the El Maresme Coast, with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. It all started with Ángel, a Spanish entrepreneur who believed that sustainability wasn’t just a trend—it was a responsibility. Inspired by the rhythm of the waves and the beauty of the coastline, Ángel set out to create a brand that would protect the oceans while celebrating the Mediterranean lifestyle.

From recycled materials to eco-conscious designs, Oceanides embodies the balance between style and sustainability. Born in Barcelona, Spain—a city that knows a thing or two about bold innovation and timeless charm—Oceanides isn’t just about eyewear; it’s about creating a ripple effect of positive change for the planet.

Our Name

Legend has it that Oceanus, better known as the "Titan of the Waters," fell deeply in love with Tethys (a sea nymph) and relentlessly pursued her until he won her hand in marriage.

From their union, it is said that 3,000 nymphs were born, known as the Oceanides. These nymphs were tasked with caring for all the springs, ponds, rivers, and lakes of the world. Every body of freshwater or saltwater was linked to one of these nymphs, who ensured its well-being and that of the creatures inhabiting it.

Inspired by the story of the Oceanides—mythical beings devoted to protecting the ecosystem—Oceanides Eyewear was born. A brand committed to the environment, Oceanides uses RECYCLED materials in the creation of all its products.
